Who we are

Sole Connect by Pontvera connects buyers with shoe sellers in Kampala, Uganda. Contact our team on WhatsApp +256 791 343617 about privacy or marketplace support.

Information we process

• Seller account email and authentication information; shop name, business area, public WhatsApp number, eligibility acknowledgements, and verification status.
• Product descriptions, prices and product photos. New product uploads are processed to remove embedded metadata; existing images need a separate migration review.
• Order-request name, phone number, requested size, collection/delivery choice, delivery area when needed, and optional notes.
• Privacy requests and the contact information needed to respond.
• Security signals and short-lived rate-limit records derived from account identifiers and hashed network addresses.

Why we use it

We use necessary information to operate accounts, connect buyers and sellers, process requests, prevent abuse, resolve disputes and meet applicable legal obligations. Optional saved-pair preferences are stored only if you choose them. We do not use marketing consent as a condition of buying or selling.

What is public

An approved shop’s name, area, chosen business WhatsApp number, verification status and published product listings are public. Account email, order details and privacy requests are not public. A seller receives the contact and request details of buyers who contact or place an order request with that seller.

Service providers and international processing

We use Google Firebase for hosting, authentication, database, image storage and server processing, and Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise/App Check for abuse protection. Processing can occur outside Uganda depending on service configuration. WhatsApp opens only when you choose a WhatsApp action; information you send is then also handled under WhatsApp’s terms. We do not sell personal information or use advertising trackers.

Storage duration

Account details are kept while needed to operate the account. Deleted accounts’ public profiles, listings and images are removed through our deletion workflow. Order records may be retained where necessary for outstanding transactions, disputes, accounting or legal obligations. Request records are kept long enough to resolve and document the request. Security rate-limit records are scheduled for short-lived expiry. Ask us for information about a particular record.

Your choices and requests

You can change shop details, withdraw optional saved preferences, request access or correction, and request deletion. Use our data request page. We may need proportionate identity verification; do not send passwords or identity documents through the form. Applicable rights and exceptions depend on the relevant law. You may also contact Uganda’s Personal Data Protection Office.

Children

Seller accounts are intended for adults aged 18 or older. Children’s shoe categories describe products; we do not ask for children’s names, dates of birth or other personal details. Parents or guardians should handle enquiries for children.

Security and changes

We use restricted access and security controls, but no online service can promise absolute security. We will update this notice when processing changes. Escrow and platform-managed delivery are not current features described by this notice.
